Nigel Blieschke's involvement in viticulture spans over two decades, yet his passion for all things wine remains as strong as it was on day dot.
Having grown up on a sheep property in the Southern Flinders Ranges, Nigel's love for viticulture was born out of a natural resource management degree at the University of Adelaide, which he followed up with stints at Redbank Wines, Yalumba Wine Company and Peter Lehmann Wines. He joined Torbreck Vintners as chief viticulturist in 2015, and has significantly improved the vineyards in his eight years at the helm.
Highly regarded in the viticulture scene, Nigel sits on a number of industry boards at the local, state and national level. He was also recently named a finalist in the sustainability category of the 2023 Syngenta Regional Growth Awards.
Nigel is a firm believer in actions speaking louder than words, with his unwavering commitment to soil health and vine health helping to elevate the reputation of Torbreck on the world stage.
