Now living with her husband and two young boys on a farm just a stone's throw from Denmark in Western Australia's Great Southern region, Louise is the founder of Farm Life Fitness (FLF). The business delivers live online group fitness classes to allow rural people to transform their overall health and wellbeing. She founded the business after realising that health and wellness options in rural areas are often scarce. Living on-farm and knowing farmers are so often time-poor and without a gym on their doorstep, Louise tailored FLF specifically to those living in the country. Fancy equipment is not a prerequisite - Louise is an advocate for tinned tomatoes in the place of dumbbells.
Louise's passion for movement has been alive and well from an early age. She studied Sports Therapy at university, followed by stints as a fitness coach, gym instructor and personal trainer prior to starting her own business. She also recently completed her Psychology and Counselling degree and is a firm believer in the interconnectedness of physical and mental health.
Work-life balance isn't a mentality Louise signs up to, believing it to be an unattainable goal for farmers. Rather, she believes that work is a priority, but other silos, like food, movement, sleep and social connections, need to be full to help take the pressure off work.
