Jake Wolki

Jake Wolki became a farmer after he couldn't source the food his family wanted to eat. His regenerative farm at Albury on the New South Wales and Victorian border now feeds many families via his self-service butchery and online store.

Jake Wolki and his family have been on an incredible food journey. In 2019 he was plagued with skin and respiratory allergies and, after a particularly bad reaction to some medication, he set out to heal himself with food.

When the grass-fed beef he sought was unavailable locally he decided to grow his own. With the realisation that it would take as much effort to move one cow or 20 each day, Jake became an accidental farmer. He's now producing sheep, pigs, chickens for meat and eggs, bees and a market garden. He also harvests wild venison.

Jake is perhaps best known for his 'walk-in vending machine' butchery shop, where his produce is processed and sold. He is also passionate about collaboration with other farmers. Just four years later Jake now leases 120 hectares of land and not only feeds his growing family, but a growing number in his local community and beyond as well.

He's healthier than he's ever been and enjoys knowing that he's part of making the environment, community and customers stronger as well.
