With her parents having managed multiple properties throughout New South Wales and South Australia during her childhood, Elle Moyle has been in and around agriculture for as long as she can remember. Her love for cattle runs in the blood, with the Moyle family having bred performance-recorded Angus cattle since 1956, selling Pathfinder Angus seedstock cattle to all states across Australia, as well as overseas.
Elle studied veterinary science at Charles Sturt University, and with the degree under her belt, bid Australia goodbye to complete externships overseas. After stints working as a vet in Dubai and America, Elle gradually made her way back to home shores, working in northern Queensland and then with Agriculture Victoria as a District Veterinary Officer for six years. During this time, Elle bought her first farm in 2017, a rundown property she went 'hammer and tong' on to bring up to scratch. This process involved fencing, creating new watering systems, installing new yards, and re-pasturing paddocks. After two years, she was proud to deem the property as largely up to scratch.
In 2021, Elle had her first child, Jack, and resigned from her government job to work full-time for Pathfinder Angus. Now managing two of the stud's seven properties, being at the helm of the sheep and heifer programs, and steering the marketing and advertising ship, Elle does miss aspects of being a vet but is loving the day-to-day life of working for Pathfinder. She is excited to be part of the stud's journey, continually striving to have "the most profitable customers in the business."
Elle has a number of accolades to her name, including being a Zanda McDonald Award Finalist in 2020, and being an alumnus of the National Rural Women's Coalition. She is particularly proud of - and passionate about - the vital role rural women play in keeping the agriculture cogs turning.
