Simona Hamilton is an active marine scientist and freelance science communicator.
Her professional journey began with Greening Australia, where she learnt innovative gully remediation strategies to mitigate the impacts of soil erosion on the Great Barrier Reef. Simona then worked on a Port Douglas based research vessel, monitoring the health of nearby reefs. Simona's passion for marine conservation led her to Bali, Indonesia, where she contributed to the day-to-day operations of a Marine Protected Area. From there, she travelled to Japan, taking up an internship with the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology.
Although her background is steeped in marine science, Simona discovered her true calling lies in making the latest research accessible to a non-scientific audience. With a talent for transforming complex scientific concepts into practical articles, Simona aims to empower landowners and deepen their understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things, on land and in the oceans.
